Enhancing Wireless Connectivity with Distributed Antenna Systems (DAS)

A Distributed Antenna System (DAS) is a network of spatially separated antenna nodes connected to a common source via a transport medium, which provides wireless service within a specific area or structure. The main goal of DAS is to improve cellular and wireless coverage in environments where traditional signal transmission is weak or obstructed, such as large buildings, stadiums, airports, tunnels, or urban areas with dense infrastructure.

DAS works by taking a signal from a base station or signal source and distributing it through multiple antennas strategically placed throughout the coverage area. These antennas act as mini cell towers, ensuring consistent signal strength and quality. The system can be designed as active DAS, which uses fiber or coaxial cables with electronic components to amplify signals, or passive DAS, which uses only cables and splitters to distribute signals without amplification.
